Large St Benedict crucifix, Sterling Silver gold plated crucifix for man, detailed St Benedict cross, high precision coin crucifix necklace This crucifix is made with 925 / 1000 sterling silver with gold plating ( cross is gold plated while corp is rhodium plated ). Cross is made in single peace and additionally has been added medal and corp of Jesus Christ. Cross is fine polished while medal is satin with diamond cut edges. Meaning of medal on this crucifix: 1. Front of the medal there is a cross on which the initial letters of these words are imprinted: "Crux Sacra Sit Mihi Lux" (Let the cross be my light) and the initial letters of the words: "Non Draco Sit Mihi Dux " (Let the dragon not be my leader). Around the cross itself we find the initial letters of the words "Crux Sancti Patris Benedicti" (The Cross of the Holy Father Benedict). On the rim are imprinted the initial letters of the couplet: "Vade Retro Satana, Nunquam Suade Mihi Vana — Sunt Mala Quae Libas, Ipse Venena Bibas" (Satan departs , do not advise me with vanities - what you offer is evil, drink your own poison.) At the top of the cross itself we can see the words Pax (Peace) or the monogram I H S (Jesus). 2. Back of this medal bears the image of St. Benedict holding a cross in his right hand and the "Holy Rule" in his left hand. Next to him is a broken glass with a poisonous snake coming out of it on one side, and a raven on the other side. Above the cup and the raven are imprinted the words: "Crux Sancti Patris Benedicti" (Cross of the Holy Father Benedict).
