A set of highly collectible The Old Curiosity Shop dinner plates, made by Royal. Two date from 1953, and one is from 1959. The pattern is named after the British author Charles Dickens novel about the London store. Designed by Gordon Parker. The dinner plates show the Portsmouth Street shop and seven Londoners -- a little boy rolling a hoop, down the cobbled street. A young lady looks out the shop window while two others look inside. Two gentleman are walking outside the shop on the sidewalk, while another is entering the shop. This scene is framed by a faux wood border with faux iron hinges and door pulls. Super cute!
