Vintage Capodimonte Porcelain Figurine, Rococo Couple, White Glazed Gold Trim

A gorgeous antique German Capodimonte figurine featuring a romantic Rococo-style couple dressed in 18th century attire. Elegant white glazed finish with beautifully detailed gold trim. This figurine bears the five-pointed Crown mark with a “N” underneath on the base. This particular piece may be German made but it has the refined elegance of the Capodimonte tradition which is renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship. The style originated in Naples, Italy. The manufacturer could be Carl Thieme, who worked for the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory, the first European facility to produce porcelain and played a significant role in the development of porcelain artistry. Thieme founded his own manufacturing company in Potschappel in 1872. He frequently incorporated elements of Rococo and Neoclassical styles, which appeal to the taste of the time. During his career, he collaborated with other prominent porcelain designers including Julius Konrad Hentschel, Eduard Eichler and Ernst Bohne.
