The insert sits inside the bowl and helps reduce splashing, water movement, and mess around the bowl during drinking. This is especially useful for large dogs, because big dogs often drink more water and can leave a wet area around regular open bowls. The insert is my own design and is made in my workshop using plant-based PLA bioplastic, a material made from renewable corn-derived raw material. Eco-conscious insert material ----------The anti-splash insert is 3D-printed from PLA bioplastic.---------- PLA is a plant-based material made from renewable resources such as corn starch. I print the inserts on demand, which helps reduce unnecessary stock and material waste. Important note: PLA is a bio-based material, but it should not be treated as ordinary home-compostable waste. Proper composting usually requires industrial composting conditions. For buyers, the main benefit is a cleaner, custom-designed insert made from a plant-based material instead of standard petroleum-based plastic. Compatible with YETI Boomer 8 and custom bowls This stand is designed to be compatible with YETI Boomer 8 bowls. It also fits other straight-sided bowls with a diameter of about: 20–20.3 cm / 7.9–8 in Straight-sided bowls sit especially well in this type of stand because the bowl shape gives a clean and stable fit. If you use your own bowls, I can make the stand opening to fit your bowl size. ----------For the best fit, please send:---------- • top diameter of the bowl • widest diameter of the bowl • bottom diameter • bowl height • photo of the bowl from the side This helps me make the opening correctly so your bowls sit securely in the stand. ----------Height options---------- The height is measured from the floor to the top of the bowl rim area. L — 34 cm / 13.4 in For large dogs such as Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, Australian Shepherd, and similar size breeds. XL — 45 cm / 17.7 in For extra large and tall dogs such as German Shepherd, Doberman, Greyhound, Bernese Mountain Dog, and similar breeds. XXL — 50 cm / 19.7 in For very tall dogs or dogs who need a higher feeding position than standard XL. ----------Expert height guide---------- A good practical guide is to choose a feeder height about 15 cm / 6 in below your dog’s withers — the highest point of the shoulders. Measure your dog from the floor to the withers, then subtract about 15 cm / 6 in. For example: If your dog’s wither height is about 60 cm / 23.6 in, a feeder height around 45 cm / 17.7 in may be a good choice. Beech is a strong, durable hardwood with a beautiful natural grain. Each stand is cut, sanded, assembled, and finished by hand in my workshop. The anti-splash insert is designed by me and 3D-printed from plant-based PLA bioplastic.
