This silver-toned metal "The Metropolitan" police and trench-style whistle was manufactured by J. Hudson & Co. at 244 Barr Street, Birmingham. Dating to the 1910s era, as indicated by the engraved "Patent 5727-08" on the top cap, it features an attached black fabric lanyard cord and the classic cylindrical body design historically associated with British law enforcement and World War I officers.
