Over time it develops a natural patina that settles into the engraving and deepens the relief of the scrollwork. If you prefer the original bright tone, a soft polish brings it straight back. ⟡ A NOTE ON PATINA (please read) Copper is a natural metal. It darkens with air, moisture and skin oils, and on some people it can leave a temporary greenish mark on the skin. This is harmless and washes off. If you'd like to slow it down, a thin coat of clear jewelry lacquer on the back of the pendant works well. ⟡ CARE Remove before showering, swimming or sleeping. Wipe with a dry cloth. To restore shine, use a copper polish cloth, or a little lemon juice and salt — then rinse and dry fully.
