This is part of the hand dying process as no 2 pieces of leather take the dye the exact same. ~This collar is ½ of a inch wide ~~For your dogs neck measurement, measure their neck where it sits comfortably snug, not too tight this is what we base the size from, we will make this the 3rd hole out of the 6 holes allowing for room either way. (That means if you order a 8 inch neck size, the neck size will be made for the 3rd hole) Within reason, of course there is the leather thickness itself, and preferences of how loose you would like your dog to wear it.
