Seeds from Entelea arborescens is a tree in the Malvaceae family. It is also the only species in the genus Entelea. An endemic to New Zealand. It is also called New Zealand Mulberry, Corkwood, Cork Tree, New Zealand Cork, Whau, and Evergreen Lime. It can grow to heights of 20 feet tall and 10 feet wide. It has large lime color leaves that give it a tropical look. The fruits are a distinct brown and are covered with spines. The common name whau is a Māori word that appears to derive from the common Polynesian word for hibiscus. It can grow in most soils with good drainage. Zones 10 and above. Germination Sow seeds the thickness of the seeds on top of the medium and lightly cover. Keep moist in a bright spot. Do not cover and keep temperatures around 65-70F. Germination is in 7-30 days.
