This book measures 5 1/2 x 7 3/4 inches and has 310 pages. The book is rated as NEAR FINE ++ and the Dust Jacket is rated as GOOD+++ and shows some edge wear to the front cover and ends of the spine. It is now in a new protective clear covering. This is a FIRST EDITION. RARLEY comes on the market!!! There is only one other First Edition that is for sale on any of the 22 vintage book selling sites. (It does not have a Dust Jacket and is not more than a good copy. It is $600. There is a reprint from 5 years after the First Edition that is also in less than good condition and is lacking a Dust Jacket and it cost $350.) (I found 2 copies of one book - 'Beggars Can Choose', by her that are priced at $17,000 and $14000). https://www.magbloom.com/2013/12/margaret-weymouth-jackson-the-sage-of-spencer-indiana/ http://www.magbloom.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/15_weymouth-2.pdf https://www.nytimes.com/1933/03/12/archives/an-american-family-sarah-thornton-by-margaret-weymouth-jackson-310.html "For more than two decades, spanning from the ’30s to the ’50s, Jackson was one of the nation’s most beloved writers of fiction. Her short stories and articles, which numbered well over 200, appeared regularly in popular periodicals such as Country Gentleman, Ladies’ Home Journal, McCall’s, Woman’s Day, and Good Housekeeping. So prolific were her contributions to The Saturday Evening Post that she earned admission to the prestigious “Fifty Club” of authors who had 50 or more stories in the magazine. Her reputation as a writer and speaker earned her an invitation from Edward R. Murrow to read an essay for the original This I Believe radio series during the 1950s. In addition to her short stories, she wrote six novels, all published by Bobbs-Merrill Company." Her 6 novels are: Elizabeth's tower by Margaret Weymouth Jackson( 1926 ) Beggars can choose by Margaret Weymouth Jackson( 1928 ) Jenny Fowler by Margaret Weymouth Jackson( 1930 ) Sarah Thornton by Margaret Weymouth Jackson( 1933 ) First fiddle by Margaret Weymouth Jackson( 1931 ) Kindy's crossing : a novel by Margaret Weymouth Jackson( 1934 ) e 2104 3221e1
