I had trouble trying to find a housing that I could use to mount a new boat radio into my boat. This worked perfectly!! And shipping was extremely fast!

My stereo would not allow cover to close. If the face of your deck appears to be slender you are probably good-to-go. The face of my Clarion deck has a little more height above mounting surface and a little extra width. The lid wouldn't close. Further, the tinted plastic is a bit soft - I could scratch it with my fingerprint. Returned the item.

A Boss stereo system will not work in it. Had to route out the face so my unit would fit because of the nest of wires you are trying to compress, plus the color wires don't even match from the housing to the stereo. Good idea gone a stray, plus you would need a big console to put it on!

I bought this for mounting my boat receiver. I installed it under the passenger dash. I bolted it through the glove box and it is nice and solid. It has kept my radio dry in the pouring rain. 2 negatives, the "holes" in the back of the unit are designed for receivers with the bundle of wires in the back with no fuses. Must be for receivers with built in fuses. So i had to cut the holes much larger to get the wires in as well as the antenna. I had a difficult time plugging in the wires into the back, I could not plug them in before hand. But after a little fuss while installing I am overall please with the unit. Also wish the "aux" cord plug was in the back of my receiver b/c you have to leave the face open to plug in an MP3 player if it is in the front, and if you have it open while you are moving on a choppy day i'm sure it could break the cover off.

The flip open lid latch broke befor u could even install the radio in the unit there were absulutly no instructions not very satisfied

No installation instructions included, looks like it will keep the receiver dry, back plate very average quality. It was almost impossible to fit the Boss MR1315WUA receiver in it with the provided cables.
