It is advertised as kosher and non gmo, but on the container I got it doesn't say any of that like it does on the pictures advertised. The one I received literally says it's bioengineered.

Cornstarch comes in so handy, especially for making a slurry to thicken juices of a stew or roast to make gravy. During WW II, my mother used it in place of baby powder. Turns out that was a wise choice.

It's ok, nothings special and price point a little high.
- Non-GMOAMar 16, 2026
the only non-gmo corn starch in my area. it does what it needs to do. i use it to thicken sauces and soups. the container size is a lot smaller than argo though, it would be nice to have the option for a larger one:

It's corn starch - what can I say? I use it to thicken sauces and have no idea what it tastes like on its own. It works, and is from a brand I have used for decades.
- Great for big muffinsAlexyaJan 15, 2026
Great for thickening sauces and such and if your like me and have like four of these half used and want a little fun make ooblec by adding one per water to two parts starch.
- Cheapest non GMO cornstarch aroundJan 8, 2026
I make a lot of pudding from scratch which calls for a lot of cornstarch. This is the cheapest non GMO cornstarch around, even cheaper than on Amazon. And I like how the top of the can has an opening that allows you to level off the top of your measuring spoon.

I love that you have gone back to the vintage packaging. I started cooking with my mother and grandmothers in 1959. Clabber Girl was a staple in their kitchens and is in my kitchen today. From fabulous food to fun and crazy science experiments Clabber Girl Corn Starch does the job!
- Who knew?!CindyAug 28, 2025
I have always bought Clabber Girl baking powder and I never knew they sold the corn starch until I saw this on the site! I decided to give it a try. It has a nice smooth texture and the can size is right for being single. I don't like having to buy the gigantic containers of items like this, so this was perfect.
