I've been using this type of McDavid knee support for, oh, probably 20 years. I like this newer model. There's a lining of some sort on the inside which is smoother than the exterior (and than the interior of my last ones) making them easier to slide on and off.

I bought them because a patient has been having a wonderful experience with them, having had serious knee surgery when he was very young. It's a great product, well designed, but not for me. In my case it made my knee hurt far worse you the point that my chondromalacia patella was aggravated for a week.

this is my 2nd pair of McDavid Knee braces w/tays and Cross straps My meniscus are pretty chewed up on both knees and I originally bought my 1st pair about 6 years ago to help decrease the inflammation and pain, which they did. I am a deer hunter and I never thought I would be able to continue to hike through uneven terrain again, but these braces make it possible. I wear them mainly when hiking and jogging, or if I know I will be doing some twisting and turning. I had to buy a 2nd pair after I lost 50 pounds and had to move down a size. I highly recommend these braces, the are comfortable and stay in place. You may not feel the benefits when you are wearing them, but you will notice the lack of pain and stress in your knees when you come back from a long hike in the woods.

This brace is heavier-duty than any I have used previously. I have found it to be comfortable and pretty supportive and not restrictive in any way. I bought another even heavier-duty articulated brace from another manufacturer at the same time as this one and I would say that one is more supportive than this one, but is also not very comfortable for long periods and cost 4x as much! For the price I think this is an excellent buy and I would recommend it to my mother.

It is a comfortable and supportive brace that really helps my battered knee when walking or hiking. Not sure the cross straps add anything but the firm stays along the sides and the tight fit that can be obtained with the two main straps result in good support. Easy on, but not so easy to take off. In general, a good brace and much better than other sleeves I have tried.

Replaced McDavid knee braces I've had for 15 years. Those will now be spares for skiing as they are still in excellent condition. These new braces with cross straps are for the gym. They are awesome. Comfortable and extremely supportive. Very well made. Would highly recommend.
