Scenic Old-Stock Ocean Jasper Cabochon – Marovato, Madagascar This beautiful cabochon was cut from old-stock Ocean Jasper mined off the northwest coast of Madagascar, from the early Marovato material prized by collectors. The stone naturally forms a scenic landscape. Soft pastel agate creates the appearance of a glowing sky, while flower-like green orb formations float above a deep forest-green field. A band of golden orb clusters flows across the stone like a field of wildflowers, giving the piece the feeling of a tiny landscape painting created by nature. Ocean Jasper from these early veins is increasingly difficult to obtain, making this a wonderful collector cabochon or statement pendant stone. Each cabochon I offer is hand-cut and polished in my home studio. I polish the front, back, and sides so the stone looks beautiful from every angle and is ready for jewelry work.
